I’m not the biggest fan of Christmas. Don’t get me wrong; I used to love it when I was a kid. But now it’s just a little… tedious. I know, shoot me right? Trust me though, you’d feel exactly the same if you lived with my mother.
Our Christmas trees – yes trees, we have two large ones and a small one – are up constantly all year. So, we never have that moment of putting them up like a normal family does. The decorations are always on the mantle piece, the Christmas icicle lights are always on in the kitchen. The Christmas cards from 2013 are still hanging on strings across the ceiling. Ugh. It pisses me off to be honest. Like really what is the point Mum? My little brother loves it, and my Dad has just learnt to deal with it but it just annoys me so much. I swear, after Christmas this year I’m burning it ALL.
So for me, when people start to sing Christmas songs in October on a minibus on the Geography field trip (Yes, I’m talking about you Daniel) it’s particularly irritating *evil glare*
However, it is December 1st tomorrow. And because I have been moaning at my poor friends for months about Christmas I baked them my special Christmas cookies to celebrate. Cinnamon Reindeer squad. The Christmas scarf usually comes out around now, but I feel like that may have to wait until after the mock exams. Mr Connaughton’s (my form tutor) countdown chalkboard also starts tomorrow, and everyone else’s advent calendars too.
I guess Christmas has some positives, I’m quite excited to see the school musical later this week. Although, I don’t know how much Buble singing from Bekah and Daisy I’ll be able to handle. Someone pass me the mulled wine, it’s gonna be a looooooong month.
