The Butterfly Effect is the concept that a tiny thing that happens, such as a butterfly flapping its wings, can have a large scale impact on future events. It’s all about actions leading to consequences, no matter how small or unimportant they may seem.
Personally, I believe that the butterfly effect happens all of the time, everywhere. Where some people believe in fate and that people are destined to do or become something, I disagree; there is no fate. I believe that one small action can change somebody’s entire life. Is that a good thing? Maybe. It depends how you look at it. It can be a great thing, something that happens somewhere near you could set off a chain of events that leads to you.
Think about it this way: Imagine, if when you were at primary school, you were sat in a different chair and so had made friends with different people. Your personality would have grown and adapted similarly to your friends. You may have ended up at a different secondary school, where the teachers lead you to chose different subjects. Your entire future could be completely different – all because you sat in a different chair when you were 3.
The Butterfly Effect is similar to the saying that everything happens for a reason. However it is amazing to think that something someone dropped in a conversation could cause your life to change direction, but does that have a reason? That person must have said it for a reason. Everything that happens must have a cause and an effect, and both of those two things can be life changing.
